This blog post is not the definitive guide to Facebook. In fact it was starting to feel like the social network changed so often there could never be a definitive guide to using it for marketing. That was before Facebook Studio.
What is Facebook Studio?
After all these months of griping “we can’t keep up with Facebook for business” and “how am I supposed to do marketing on Facebook without any info” Matt Morgan of Moonshine Media quite rightly pointed something out to me…
The company has created a whole portal of resources about Facebook (how did I miss this?). Not only that, but there’s a host of tutorials and downloads available there as well as content added by contributors showcasing their campaigns and sharing best practice.
It’s called Facebook Studio http://facebook-studio.com
What you’ll find on Facebook Studio
- Learning Lab: All about Facebook’s marketing tools and how to put them to use
- A Spotlight Section: This is great because it’s examples of real live campaigns which you can sort by features, brand category or objectives. Great for getting ideas and inspiration
- Awards: An opportunity to submit your work and receive awards (they’re still working out the details on this)
What’s missing?
All in all Facebook Studio is a a great start and as long as it develops and continues to add more useful content rather than being abandoned (*ahem* Facebook places) it could become the Go To place for marketers.
However it would be useful if the site was for marketers in the true sense of the word rather than the heavy focus on advertisers. I know ad revenue is how the social network makes their money but showing people how to do the proper integrated campaigns will surely lead to more ad buys too, no?
