It was an interesting week on the topic of marketing to children, particularly online.
Dr Agnes Nairn warned that the digital age has created grey areas in terms of marketing to children, which are impossible to police despite ongoing reviews by CAP and BCAP.
Following on from David Cameron’s threats that marketers may face further regulation on advertising to children, alcohol advertising came under fire from a House of Commons select committee report which called for all alcohol advertising to be banned on social networking sites.
Our MD, Dominic Sparkes, was asked to comment specifically on the logistics and implications of banning alcohol advertising in social networks to protect young people stating that
