Today is the eleventh annual Safer Internet Day with the theme ‘Let’s create a better internet together’. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, and recognised globally in over a hundred countries, the day provides a platform to celebrate digital creativity and to encourage the safe, responsible use of technology.
Organisations like the BBC, Tesco, Microsoft, Disney Club Penguin, Facebook, Google and the NSPCC as well as schools, charities and industry will be supporting the day with a range of activities designed to get the message out.
There are lots of ways to join in and help to support this important message.
- Watch Safer Internet Day TV – streamed live today
- Take the Safer Internet Day quiz – for young people, schools and families
- Use the schools packs – including presentations, activities, posters and more
- Promote the day using banners, logo and template text
- Share the centre’s advice for parents
Online safety has always been at the heart of what we do here at Tempero, so we’ll be getting the word out and are looking forward to supporting the Safer Internet Centre this afternoon at the Safer Internet Day 2014 Youth Event.
Happy Safer Internet Day everyone.
